Osteoporosis Conference and Bone Density Screening

On Saturday, January 21st women of all ages gathered together at Fellowship Village, a not for profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in Basking Ridge for and interactive conference and screening opportunity. The program was a joint effort of the Bernards Township Health Department, Morristown Memorial Hospital and Fellowship Village. The program commenced with a keynote address by Dr. Berton Taffet, a local orthopedist and ended with breakout sessions which included opportunities to discuss t-score results with physicians from One-to-One Female Healthcare of Morristown as well as a chance to work with a physical therapist on weight bearing exercises. Attendees had time to sample calcium rich foods as they received nutritional counseling from registered dieticians and nutritionists. Many had the opportunity to end the day with a little relaxation via hand and chair massage therapists on site.
